The gallery at Waterloo Arts is curated by a volunteer committee of professional artists. The overarching mission of the Exhibition Committee is to make accessible, contemporary art and socially responsive models of art practice, reflecting the highest professional standards. The number of exhibitions varies from year to year with a certain number of shows originating from programming objectives and/or curation. The Exhibition Committee meets a minimum of once annually to review proposals. The Committee welcomes all proposals – performance, installation, social practices, object-based, etc. – representing contemporary creative practices. There are no restrictions on who can apply. Please follow the below guidelines carefully for consideration by the committee.

Waterloo Arts invites all artists residing in the US or Canada to submit artwork to the annual Waterloo Arts Juried Exhibition. A new juror is selected each year and the Exhibition takes place in three locations in the Waterloo Arts District: Waterloo Arts, Praxis Fiber Workshop and Brick Ceramic + Design Studio. The exhibit opens with a public reception on the first Friday in June and remains on view during the district’s largest community event, the Waterloo Arts Fest. Over $2000 in prizes are awarded each year and a small stipend is given to all accepted artists. Applications are due in April and a link will be provided below when the current process is open.

The annual DayGloSho is sponsored by the Cleveland based DayGlo Color Corp. and is a unique exhibit of new work created by over 40 regional and national artist using the fluorescent pigments of the DayGlo Color Corp.. The exhibit is shown in black light for a mesmerizing, magical gallery experience like no other. A great show for all ages!
For the past few years we have circulated a call for art before each DayGloSho but in 2019 we are trying a new approach that we hope will give all interested artist an opportunity to work with this interesting paint, while still presenting a fresh, curated show each year. In the main gallery we will present a selection of invited artists from Cleveland and beyond and this year we will also open an annex gallery where anyone is welcome to hang work. During the month of February, Waterloo Arts will host a series of open studios so everyone interested has the opportunity to try out the paint and work on a project.
If you would like to be included as a featured artist in a future DayGloSho, send an email and let us know. We accept applications ongoing but we will not respond to individual submissions. Your work will be considered when scheduling the next DayGloSho and you will be notified then, if invited.
Please send your email of interest to email@example.com and include the following:
