To Submit an Exhibition Proposal:
Waterloo Arts Gallery hosts 6-7 exhibitions in its main gallery per year, with a limited number of shows originating from the organization’s larger programming objectives and seasonal thematic interests. Our mission is to make contemporary art and socially responsive models of art practice accessible to the Waterloo Arts District and its immediate Collinwood community, placing special emphasis on artists residing within the Cleveland Metro area and Northeast Ohio region.
The gallery at Waterloo Arts is curated by a volunteer committee of local artists and arts educators. There are no restrictions on who can apply for consideration in an exhibition.
Our Fall 2022 Call for Exhibitions is now closed! Check back in January 2023 to apply for a Spring 2023 exhibition!

Annual exhibitions:
Waterloo Arts Juried Exhibition
Waterloo Arts invites all artists residing in the US or Canada to submit artwork to the annual Waterloo Arts Juried Exhibition. A new juror is selected each year, and the exhibition is welcomed to the gallery with a public reception during the district’s monthly Walk All Over Waterloo. A small stipend is given to all accepted artists, and over $2,000 in prizes is awarded by local arts organizations.
Applications for the 2021 Waterloo Arts Juried Exhibition have ended.
DayGlo Show
The annual DayGlo Show is sponsored by the Cleveland-based DayGlo Color Corp. and is a unique exhibit of new work created using DayGlo fluorescent pigments. The exhibit is shown in black light and provides for a mesmerizing, magical gallery experience like no other. A great show for all ages!
We are still in the planning stages for the 10th iteration of DayGlo Show. Learn more about the 2022 programs, DayGloLAB and DayGlo Show: here!
Holiday Co-Op Sale
Waterloo Arts’ annual Holiday Co-Op invites artists, artisans, makers, and craftspeople residing in Northeast Ohio to sell their wares each year in our market-style shop seated in the gallery. The sale runs from the last Saturday in November to the third Sunday in December to help seasonal gifters source handmade, locally produced goods with cheer.
Applications for the 2021 Holiday Co-Op sale have ended. Check back in mid-September for information about the 2022 Co-Op sale!
Art of the Ornament
Every winter holiday season, local artists contribute an ornament of their own design to be included in our holiday benefit sale. Prior to the event opening, all contributions are hung in a gallery show to be included in a silent auction the night of the opening celebration. By night’s end, guests retrieve what ornaments they’ve won, the highest bid-upon ornament is announced. All sales benefit Waterloo Arts’ programs and exhibitions.
Learn more about last year’s event and ornament donation: here! Expect more information about the 2022 Art of the Ornament auction to be published in late September.
