The Silver Keys shake things up this Sunday, September 10 @ 4 PM!

To kick off the fall Music for Miles series The Silver Keys Clarinet Quartet have put together a program of dance inspired music from around the globe with dancer’s Neal & Christy Dorenkott of Gotta Swing Dance performing to select songs. The Quartet will play the overture from “The Marriage of Figaro”; traditional Irish and Scottish dances; the Habanera from “Carmen”; Tango; Summertime from “Porgy and Bess”; It Takes 4 to Tango; The Bishop Is Forced to Dance; Two Cuban Dances; A Klezmer Wedding; And America from “West Side Story,” and the “Jitterbug Jump” among others.  Relax with friends, a glass of wine and toe tapping music as we welcome in the new season.

Lindsay Wile Charnofsky holds music degrees from the University of Michigan, and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Ms. Charnofsky, former principal clarinetist with the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra, has performed with Opera Cleveland, Red (an Orchestra), CityMusic Cleveland, and the Blossom Festival Band. She is a native of Okemos, Michigan. Lindsay also works as an interior designer, specializing in the design of professional services firms. Lindsay currently resides in Cleveland Heights with her husband Eric, a pianist, and their three spoiled cats.

Emily Lada earned music performance degrees from the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory and the University of Akron. She studied clarinet with Dr. Alan P. Squire, David Bell and Fred Ormond. Emily has performed with the Cleveland Ballet, Ohio Ballet, and the Blossom Festival Band, as well as in many professional new music recording sessions. She is a founding member of The Silver Keys clarinet ensemble, and the Trillium Trio mixed woodwind ensemble. A native of Cleveland’s west side, Emily is also a non-graphic artist, who once spent seven years with NE Ohio Marc’s stores, designing humorous signage for them.

Bill Meyer received his music degree from Kent State University and has studied further at Notre Dame College, Walsh University, and Cleveland State University. He has performed at Playhouse Square, Tower City, Cain Park, Karamu, the Art Museum, Rock Hall, and Zoo. His career includes 32 years as a Music Educator, with the last 20 in the Cleveland Public Schools. Bill is the Founder of The Silver Keys.

Alix Reinhardt is currently the second clarinetist of the Canton Symphony and Wheeling Symphony. She has also performed with other orchestras, including Opera Cleveland, Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Ballet, Akron Symphony, Youngstown Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony (SC), Richmond Symphony. Other various engagements of hers include a chamber music and solo recital in Pecs, Hungary, and most recently, a school concert tour in the Fukui Prefecture, Japan. She is also a member of Renaissance City Winds in Pittsburgh. Alix spends a great deal of time teaching as well as performing. She has held teaching positions at Seton Hill University and The University of Akron as well as maintaining a private teaching studio in her home of Cleveland. Alix earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University (Bloomington) and her Master of Music degree from the University of Western Ontario. Her primary teachers included James Campbell and Robert Riseling. In her spare time, Alix can be found making pottery.
