She Speaks returns to our cafe’ with another amazing night of women’s voices! Poet T.M. Gottl will be this month’s feature, and as always the open mic, workshop and slam competition.
. The evening will begin with an open mic at 7pm followed by a writing workshop at 8pm. After the workshop concludes, there will be a slam competition hosted by local slam poets Blaire Miller Bommer and Kisha Nicole Foster. From each monthly slam, a winner will be chosen to represent She Speaks at a national competition as part of our ‘slam team’. There will be a required donation of between $5-10 for anyone who wants to participate in the slam. This money will go to travel expenses for the team.
She Speaks is free and open to the public (aside from slam competitors). Men are welcome, women only to participate.
