Photo Poets is a quarterly feature in the Collective Arts Network (CAN) Journal, curated by Aja Joi Grant. Photo Poets is focused on street photography in Cleveland, Ohio, highlighting the different methods and styles of our local visual storytellers. Each photographer has their own way of documenting & utilizing their surroundings in their image making. Themes go from interpersonal intimacy to bold individual expression. Stillness, community, patience, and artistic style all blend in different ways within these photographers capturing contemporary settings with film and digital media. Viewers may recognize some areas, some common as lawns of loved ones, others more discreet corners of a neighborhood, showcasing all the ways we experience a shared city.
