The 2016 National Arts Program deadline is here! Every spring the City of Cleveland in partnership with Waterloo Arts presents Ohio’s only National Arts Program exhibit. This year the opening reception will be Friday, March 4th from 5pm- 9pm and the exhibit will run through March 24. Registration can be filled out online or when you bring your work to the Waterloo Arts gallery. Finish up your submissions, because the date to drop-off artwork is this Thursday and Friday from noon until 7pm at Waterloo Arts. Enter on E 156 at the orange door (397 E 156th St).
All Cleveland residents, employees of the City of Cleveland and their families and students of Cleveland schools are welcome to enter work into this show. There will be numerous prizes handed out for submissions of every age group and level of expertise. All work that follows the guidelines will be displayed.
The National Arts Program® was founded in 1982 with the purpose of providing individuals a forum to showcase and develop their visual artistic talents. The broad aim of the program is to create a sense of community and artistic accomplishment.
I am curious why the sponsor is called a “National Arts Program” but this show is only open to “All Cleveland residents, employees of the City of Cleveland and their families and students of Cleveland schools”. Perhaps the name of the NAP is confusing the issue.
