Sunday, October 8 at 4 PM at Waterloo Arts Gallery
The October concert of our Music For Miles series ventures down a new path in an exploration of classical northern and southern Indian music led by renowned musician and educator, Lalit Subramaniam. The performance will include tablas and mridangams – as well as the tanpura (a stringed instrument used as a drone, without which no Indian concert can be called complete), the Western violin, played Indian-style, and a South Indian song. As usual, refreshments may be purchased at the adjoining Callaloo Cafe and enjoyed before, during or after the concert. Music For Miles concerts are always free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations are required.
Plenty of free parking on the street and in the public lots on Waterloo Road. There is no longer public parking in the lot adjacent to Waterloo Arts off E 156th Street.
