It’s time once again for Waterloo Arts’ annual DayGlo transformation! For the past eight years, Waterloo Arts has worked with DayGlo Color Corp on DayGloSho, a blacklit exhibition of artworks made by regional artists using DayGlo paint. For this year’s iteration of the show, we’re introducing DayGloLAB, a space to investigate and experiment in blacklight through live demos, workshops, conversations, hands-on activities, rehearsals, and performances. Current DayGloLAB investigators include: Inlet Dance Theatre, drag performer Cassie Harner, Dance Dance Party Party Cleveland, Crème de la Cleveland, Vision Zero, artist Thomas Masaveg and more.
DayGloLAB opens Friday, January 7th during Walk All Over Waterloo from 5-8pm. Documentation of the month-long lab will then remain on display as part of the 9th annual DayGloSho which opens February 4th and will include the fluorescent artwork of 40 regional artists, all shown in black light.
