The Infamous Stringdusters at the Waterloo Café presented by The Beachland Ballroom on Saturday, May 16, at 9 pm.
The Infamous Stringdusters will perform at the new Waterloo Café to celebrate both the opening of the café in the Arts Collinwood building at the corner of E156th and Waterloo, and the 5th anniversary of neighborhood non-profit group ARTS COLLINWOOD. The new Waterloo Café was formerly known as Café Marika and is owned by North Collinwood area resident, Frank Revy. The Infamous Stringdusters represent the new vanguard in acoustic music combining bluegrass, rock, country and folk. Their album “Fork in the Road†was named album of the year by the National Bluegrass Association in 2007. They are building bigger and bigger followings, so this is a rare chance to see them in a very small room. Tickets are $10 and are available thru www.beachlandballroom.com or by calling 216-383-1124. The band will do two sets of music that evening. For an additional $2 you can also do the short stroll to the Beachland Tavern and check out legendary Memphis R& B artist Wiley and the Checkmates and The Party Stompers from Detroit. The shops, galleries, vintage and record stores will be open late, so come and make it a great night in the Waterloo Arts and Entertainment District.
There is also a free reception in the Arts Collinwood gallery 6-9 PM to officially celebrate the organization’s 5th anniversary.
