Golden Hour Glass explores the tender and luminous beauty of being alive. Using a method of reverse painting on glass, Frank’s layered work illustrates soft, dreamlike scenes in an uplifting world. Inspired by nature, architecture, and the love that blooms from close attention, Golden Hour Glass enables viewers to feel the magic of being human.
Opening Reception: Friday, June 6 from 6-9pm with an artist talk at 7pm.
About the artist:
Grace Frank is a self-taught visual artist based in Cleveland, Ohio, specializing in vibrant reverse glass paintings that celebrate the joys of daily life. Her work, characterized by bold color and detailed linework, often explores themes of beauty, vulnerability, and the human spirit. Grace’s art has been featured on the front page of Reddit and in Reddit’s promotional videos. She was awarded the Diderot Grant in 2024 and completed a residency at Chateau d’Orquevaux in France that same year, and one of her pieces was added to their permanent collection. Her work has been exhibited in DIY and pop-up shows throughout Cleveland over the years. Her work is currently on display at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, and will be exhibited at French Creek Nature Center in the fall. When she’s not painting, Grace spends time with her dog and cats, finds inspiration in nature, and looks for all opportunities for mischief.
Golden Hour Glass will be open from June 6 through July 19 during regular gallery hours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12 p.m.-4 p.m., and by appointment on weekdays. To request an appointment, email info@waterlooarts.org or call 216.692.9500.
