Opening Reception: Friday, Jan 8, 6-8pm*
Virtual Artist Talk: Saturday, January 23 at 2pm Register Here
Curated by Davon Brantley, “New Beginnings” presents work by women artists from a range of backgrounds and with too often underrepresented POVs. This exhibition amplifies the voices that don’t fit western Art History’s cliché of the tortured “white male hero” artist. Through this exhibition, we are, as viewers, exposed to an altogether different paradigm, one in which women artists from a spectrum of cultural experiences take center stage. Through a variety of media choices we hear from these women their views on race, environment, cultural stigmas/standards, broken traditions, the personal, the psychological and more.
