Opening Reception – Friday, September 14, 6pm-9pm

Ann Hanrahan and Coe Lapossy met in 2002 while they were both students at Kent State University.

Coe Lapossy:

There is no one that I enjoy talking with more than Ann. We share what we are reading, the artists we are looking at, movies we’ve seen, and we trade work. Over the years our work has gone through several evolutions and some of this progress can be attributed to the energy that we interject into each other’s lives. We are both fascinated by they everyday struggles; the seemingly mundane problems of how to maintain ourselves in this world.

These two friends also share a sense of humor that can be found in the simple imagery and titles of their work, bringing an element of lightness to the more poignant subject of exploring where the self fits into the banal of everyday life.
