Belly Dancing Workshop with Aly Janae
Aly Janae will be teaching belly dancing in 10-minute sessions in the lot between 15617 Waterloo Rd and 15619 Waterloo Rd. Aly Janae has been belly dancing for 23 years, and she’s only 26 years old. Aly got her start in South Florida, performing to overcome shyness. Little did she know, belly dance would end up helping her throughout her life. After she survived a semi-truck accident and the loss of her daughter, she was told that she would never dance again. Aly not only made it back to dancing, but she began teaching in 2015. Belly dance became her way to heal after being diagnosed with PTSD. After her mother was a survivor of domestic violence, Aly made it her personal mission to give back and support the shelter that helped her mother. This year, Aly is a Team Leader for Shimmy Mob, and is donating all proceeds above and beyond fundraising to the shelter, Genesis House.

Live Painting by DAYzONE

Live Painting by Bex Moss
From Bex Moss’ site: “Live Painting has definitely been the most exciting part of my artistic journey thus far. I have met hundreds of incredible people- musicians, fellow artists, fans and appreciators. For those who have never seen live painting: an artist paints a picture (or sometimes several) to the vibes of a band’s music, or simply out in public, exposing his or her process. Too often I get asked, “Do you paint the band?” Certainly not. An artist is not limited to what she sees in front of her, but what she sees in her mind. The atmosphere inspires and motivates her to complete the piece. Some artists will work on one painting over the course of many shows. I have done this in some instances, but I am more classified as a speed painter- where I am limited to the time of the set list, finishing the painting when the band is done playing. I have painted with many Ohio bands: Drunken Sunday, Tropidelic, Vibe and Direct, just to name a few. It has been a great marketing experience for both me and the bands I paint for. I’ve done one tour to Colorado with Vibe and Direct, created a couple albums and logos for other bands, and many fliers for events. I encourage every artist to try live painting at least once. Be warned, you may get addicted!”
