LAILA VOSS AND BRUCE EDWARDS “CONVERGENCE/DIVERGENCE”

Laila Voss and Bruce Edwards are artist spouses- sometime collaborators, sometimes not. Laila’s work features a series of small sculptures that are reliquaries for Cleveland’s industrial history. Bruce’s prints are nostalgic in many ways, the images come from a mid century movie shot on film, a disappearing media.
Phone Gallery, South Side of Waterloo between Calcutta and Shiloh
During the Waterloo Arts Fest, Phone Gallery is asking the public to text-vote for their favorite photographs of the Waterloo Arts District … photographs that were taken by visitors, residents, and merchants of the District in 2014. Photographs will be displayed in Phone Gallery and after the Fest, the four most popular photographs will be reproduced as salable notecards celebrating our neighborhood.

You too can Switch on Waterloo! Stop by and flip the switch on the giant light switch sculpture Jerry Schmidt and Lou Ross created to symbolize the regeneration of the Waterloo Arts District. Also on view are recent works of Schmidt and his student sculptors, as well as, jewelry by Michelle Lake from Lake Effect Jewelry.
GEORGE SHUBA “LOOKING BACK AT FIFTY YEARS”

Photographer George Shuba has over 6000 negatives in his collection. He photographed many of the Rock n Roll icons who performed between the ’60’s through the ‘80’s. This exhibit takes a look back over his notable career.

In 2013, Waterloo Arts adorned the Waterloo Arts District with 20 new murals painted by international, national and local artists in a project called Zoetic Walls. 2013 Zoetic Walls artists include: Gaia, Ever, LNY, Hygienic Dress League, Rae, Bob Peck, Steve Ehret, Gabriel Spector, JBecause, Doodles, Lynnea Holland-Weiss and Nanook. Reno, Nevada artist, Erik Burke started off the Zoetic Walls project for 2014 with a mural on W. 25th Street in Ohio City on the Loren Naji Studio and Gallery.
