Waterloo Arts Holiday Co-Op: Call for Artists 2021

Folks gather in the gallery space and pursue the handmade items in a pop-up shop.

This holiday season we are excited to once again welcome our Holiday Co-Op to the Waterloo Arts Gallery. We are looking for Northeast Ohio artists and vendors to share their creative wares and support other makers in our community. 

What’s this going to cost?
Artists and vendors can apply for half ($30) or full tables ($60). (While our table sizes vary slightly, a full table is roughly 6’ x 2.5’) Additionally, Waterloo Arts will take a 30% gallery commission on all sales to cover operational costs. 

To ensure we are open during prime weekend shopping hours, we encourage accepted vendors to work weekend shifts at the Holiday Co-Op. Vendors who work one 3-hour shift will have their $30 half-table fee refunded, and full-table vendors can plan to work two 3-hour shifts to have their entire $60 fee refunded. Shift responsibilities include opening/closing the shop, processing sales, and interacting with customers.

Applications for the 2021 Holiday Co-Op are now closed. Stay tuned next fall for information about next year’s Co-Op.

When is all of this happening? 
The Holiday Co-op is open November 27th thru December 19th on Tuesdays, Saturdays & Sundays 11am-4pm with extended hours on Friday from 11am-8pm. 

Deadline for submissions is Monday November 1st by midnight.
Acceptance emails will go out by the end of day on Thursday, November 4th.
Payments for table fees are due Friday, November 12th. This confirms your participation in the event.
Inventory lists and shift sign-ups will be due November 21st.
Drop-off and Installation of wares on Saturday and Sunday, November 20th and 21st at the gallery from 12-3PM.
Deinstallation and pick-up of remaining wares is Sunday and Monday, December 19th and 20th, hours TBD.

How will the nitty-gritty work?
Sales will be either paid by cash or through our Square reader on our iPad. Artists/vendors will be paid their sales amount (minus the 30% commission) after the close of the Holiday Co-Op event. 

Artists/vendors are asked to consider the display of their wares and to bring table coverings, display structures, and any supportive materials or didactics needed to support the work in their absence.
